We work with a range of plaster materials and finishes to suit a variety of applications and design goals. Our work includes Venetian plaster for polished, marble-like surfaces; traditional veneer hardcoat plaster for durable, versatile interior walls; lime paint for breathable, mineral-based textured paint; Marmorino and Domingue fine-grain lime plasters for dense, stone-like textures with natural depth; Roman clay for soft, velvety surfaces; and exterior finishes such as stucco and EIFS where long-term durability and weather resistance are required. Each material is applied using hands-on techniques to achieve clean, precise, and lasting results.
In addition to new work, we provide plaster repair and have experience in historic plaster restoration, with an emphasis on preserving original character. Historic restoration requires experience to preserve a space’s original character while ensuring durability. We are proud to have completed many of these projects, most recently with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Our Plastering Services
Venetian Plaster
Venetian plaster is a decorative lime‑based wall finish made from slaked lime putty and finely ground marble dust. It is applied in multiple thin coats with a trowel and compressed to create a smooth, dense surface. The embedded marble particles reflect light, giving subtle variation and depth to the finish. When polished by hand, it can range from a soft sheen to a high gloss that resembles polished stone. Venetian plaster can be tinted with integrated colorants to achieve a wide range of colors for walls, ceilings, and architectural details. Durable and long-lasting, it is breathable, naturally mold- and bacteria-resistant, helps regulate indoor humidity, contains no harmful VOCs, and benefits from lime’s ability to absorb carbon dioxide over time.
Veneer Hardcoat
A traditional plaster wall system applied over blueboard or basecoat to create a solid, monolithic surface. Unlike paint or drywall finishes, veneer hardcoat becomes part of the wall itself, resulting in a dense, durable surface with real weight and presence. It can be finished smooth for a clean, modern look or worked for light texture, and it can be integrally tinted so color is built into the plaster rather than applied on top. Veneer hardcoat is often chosen for custom homes and renovations where a strong, long-lasting wall finish is desired. Textured Veneer plaster, while depending on the tint can often have a timeless, stone like appearance.
Lime Paint
Lime paint is a natural mineral finish made from lime and finely ground marble that can be tinted in a wide range of colors. It is breathable and durable, and is often applied with a brush resulting in a light unpredictable texture, but can be done with a roller, or spray to achieve different finish styles. Unlike standard paint, Lime Paint gives a richer, more integrated tone. Lime paint is suited to both interior and exterior spaces and can also be thinned to create a translucent lime wash effect, which looks great overtop of textured Veneer. Because it is made from natural materials and allows moisture to pass through, it supports healthier indoor air quality and resists cracking and peeling common with conventional paints.
Marmorino Plaster
Marmorino is a traditional lime-based plaster mixed with coarse crushed marble, creating walls that resemble natural stone or polished marble. It can be applied and finished to achieve a soft satin or light sheen surface, and it can be tinted in nearly any color for a custom look. The marble content gives the plaster natural depth and subtle texture, adding presence and sophistication that ordinary paint cannot achieve, and the coarse marble dust makes this a great contrast to Venetian Plaster. Marmorino works well on feature walls, ceilings, or any interior space where a refined, tactile finish is desired. Whether you want a smooth, polished surface or one with gentle movement and character.
Roman Clay
Roman Clay is a decorative plaster finish made from natural clay and mineral‑based ingredients that creates walls with a soft, matte, velvety feel and organic variation. It is applied by hand in overlapping thin layers which allows subtle tonal movement and texture to develop across the surface. Roman Clay becomes part of the wall and produces a finish that feels warm and tactile while still refined and visually rich. It is breathable, low in volatile organic compounds, and well suited to interior walls where a natural, handcrafted look is desired. Because Roman Clay sits between lime wash and polished plasters in appearance and performance, it works well in both traditional and contemporary settings where a soft, earthy surface adds depth and character to the space.
Domingue Fine Grain Lime Plaster
Domingue Fine Grain Lime Plaster is a natural mineral plaster made from slaked lime and fine mineral aggregates. Its fine grain creates a subtle texture that catches light softly, giving walls depth and a handcrafted quality without gloss. The plaster can be tinted to almost any color and applied by hand to achieve a consistent, durable finish that feels solid and substantial under the touch. Because it forms a breathable, monolithic surface and is worked by hand, it suits interiors where a refined, natural plaster look is desired, adding more character and presence than standard wall finishes.
Stucco
Stucco is a traditional exterior plaster made from cement, lime, sand, and water, applied in multiple layers to form a strong, long-lasting wall surface. It can be finished smooth or with subtle texture, and tinted in a wide range of colors to complement any architectural style. Known for its durability and resistance to sun, wind, and temperature changes, stucco provides a protective, fire-resistant exterior that stands the test of time. Its classic appearance works beautifully with modern, Mediterranean, or traditional homes, giving your exterior walls a substantial, custom-crafted look that endures for decades.
EIFS (Synthetic Stucco)
EIFS is a modern exterior wall system that combines insulation, moisture protection, and a durable finish in a single, lightweight application. It can be finished smooth or with subtle texture and tinted in a wide range of colors, offering a clean, customizable look for your home or building. EIFS is energy-efficient, provides long-lasting protection against the elements, and allows for creative design options that mimic traditional stucco or other exterior finishes.
